A rich introduction to high school French where students build a strong foundation in grammar, narration, and communication through stories, poetry, art, and conversation.
Who this is for
Ages 13+ (grades 8–12)
By the end of this course, students will be able to…
- Speak about daily and weekend life in the weekly live class
- Read poetry, songs, and French novels or biographies with support
- Narrate and write in French, with grammar taught in context
- Earn a high school credit
How it works
Live class with 10–12 students, so every child has time to speak.
Tuesday 11:30 AM–12:15 PM ET.
August–May.
Parents do not need to know French.

Taught by Julie, a native French speaker and French immersion teacher.

French 1 is a hybrid class: students complete assigned self-paced lessons two other days per week; live class emphasizes speaking practice.
This course earns high school credit. It moves a bit faster than the younger beginner track, with more writing and explicit grammar, while developing listening, speaking, reading, and writing together.
