Students are invited to interact with French and shape it into their own thoughts. That is the aim of every CM Everyday French lesson, in a live class or a self-paced course.
Living lessons use stories, art, poetry, songs, and conversation. Children meet French in sentences they can understand and use again.
This way of teaching comes from Charlotte Mason's writings, François Gouin's language-learning work, and years in a French immersion classroom. The research of Stephen Krashen and Liam Printer sits behind the lessons. What a family sees is a child hearing French, using it, and gradually saying what they themselves think.
In fact, the new French words should be but another form of expression for the ideas that for the time fill the children's mind.
