Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 24, 2026. This policy describes how CM Everyday French (“we,” “us”) handles information when you visit https://livingfrenchlessons.com (the “site”).

Information we collect

  • Contact you send us. If you email us, we receive your email address and the contents of your message.
  • Email list signups. When you join our list through the signup link on the site, you are taken to our email provider’s page. They collect the information you submit there (for example, name and email) on our behalf.
  • Purchases. If you buy something from our shop, payment and order details are processed by our payment provider. We do not store full payment card numbers on our servers.
  • Site usage and device data. Like most websites, our hosting and related services may automatically receive technical information such as IP address, browser type, and general usage data to operate and secure the site.
  • Shopping cart. Items you add in our shop may be stored in your browser (local storage) until checkout or until you clear site data.

Cookies and similar technologies

We use browser storage and, with your permission, third-party tools. You can change choices anytime via the cookie banner or Cookie settings in the site footer.

  • Essential (always on). Theme preference (cmef-ui), shopping cart (cmef-cart), your cookie choices (cmef-consent), website hosting and security (Cloudflare), and Cloudflare Turnstile when you use shop checkout (bot protection). Cloudflare may collect client-side signals (such as IP address, browser type, and related technical data) solely to detect bots. See Cloudflare's Turnstile Privacy Addendum.
  • Marketing (opt-in). If you accept marketing cookies, we load Kit.com (ConvertKit) scripts that may set cookies to support email signup features. Signup links that open Kit’s own site are not affected by this choice until you return to our site.
  • Analytics (opt-in). If you accept analytics cookies, we load Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how visitors use the site (for example, pages viewed and general device or browser information). Google may set cookies such as _ga. This runs only after you opt in. See Google’s Privacy Policy.

How we use information

We use the information above to respond to messages, run classes and the shop, send updates you have signed up for, improve the site, meet legal obligations, and protect against fraud or abuse.

Service providers

We rely on trusted third parties to help operate the site—for example, payment processing (such as Stripe), email marketing (such as Kit), analytics (such as Google Analytics), website hosting and security (Cloudflare), and bot protection at checkout (Cloudflare Turnstile). Those providers process data according to their own privacy policies and only as needed to perform services for us. For Turnstile, see Cloudflare's Turnstile Privacy Addendum.

Links to other sites

The site may link to Instagram or other services. If you follow a link, that service’s privacy policy applies to information you give them—not this policy.

Children’s privacy

Our offerings are designed for families and homeschool use. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the site beyond what is reasonably necessary to respond to a parent or guardian or to provide a service you have requested. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13 in error, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

Retention

We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes described above, unless a longer period is required or permitted by law.

Your privacy choices

  • Use Cookie settings in the footer to update marketing or analytics preferences on this site.
  • Unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in those messages.
  • Contact us to ask about access, correction, or deletion of personal information we hold, subject to applicable law.

California residents

If you are a California resident, you may have rights to know what personal information we collect, to delete certain information, and to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not sell personal information in exchange for money. We use service providers (such as Stripe for payments, Kit for email, Google for analytics when you opt in, and Cloudflare for hosting and security) who process data on our behalf. To exercise your rights or ask questions, email julie [at] livingfrenchlessons [dot] com.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated policy.
