Notebooking, conversation, rhymes, stories, and picture study for students new to formal French.

Grades: Ages 10–12 (grades 5–7); students with less than three years of French
Schedule: Tuesday & Thursday 1:30–2:15 PM ET

French notebooking
Greetings and calendar
Weekly conversations about daily life
Rhymes and songs
Vocabulary tied to stories or Gouin series
Reading and translating
Narration toward French expression
Picture study

Student expectations

Students complete short copywork each class day and study vocabulary Monday/Wednesday/Friday for about ten minutes. Students who keep up move faster in speaking and comprehension.
